Feast of Min
Today we mark the feast of Min who is one of the oldest of the Gods of our faith and holds a very important role in both our faith and also our lives.
Min has many roles and it has to be said that the modern world has in many respects misinterpreted his roles.
Mins most shall we say famous role is that of fertility and sexualuty and here I feel that the world still has a great deal to learn from our faith and the lessons of the Netjar.
Unlike many faiths we do not discriminate against others in any respects of their lives the Netjar have shown us that we should except all as equals not matter how much they may differ from ourselves.
Be this that they are of another race another faith the opersite sex to our selves and of course to except and respect the sexuality of others no matter what this may be. Just because it is not the same as our own does not make it wrong. After all we would not want others to condem us for our desires and beliefs so what right do we have to do so to others.
As a God of fertility I do find that many people ask me one question a lot and that is the question of IVF as well as the other big question of contraception.
Let us deal with the second first and maybe the easiest to deal with. Should we practise contraception? Well the answer to this is yes a simple and plain answer with no moral tails added to it or great decrees of wisdom from the Gods.
The Netjar has given us a device that when used can ensure that we all can enjoy the pleasures of sexual relation in safty and good health. It prevents the spread of illness and desesse. The Netjar in their great wisdom would not have given us this gift if it was not to be used.
Here we have to look at the core of our faith that is the world in harmony that for every aspect of chaos we are given an aspect of harmony to balance it out. In this way the Netjar ensure our world remains in harmony and balance.
Hence safe sex counters sexual desesse and unwanted children.
IVF is very much the same answer although maybe here we may question that it would fall under Min but I fell that he does have a role in this area as much as any part of the Netjar.
Min gives us the fertile seed from which life blosooms and how that seed is planted is not set in some ancient law. No in fact the best thing that we can do with this great gift (the fertile seed) is to ensure that it is planeted in a way that will make sure that it grows strong and is nurtureed and love so that it may grow.
So if we can do this for a seed then does it matter how that seed is planted or from where it comes as long as we give it love care and see that it grows strong and well into a full grown thing.
Min again also shows us how the wisdom of the Netjar is passed down to us in simple forms that we can all understand if we take the time to look.
Some will say that Min is a contadiction a God of fertility concerned with new life and growth yet he is also a God of war and thunder both the bringers of death and distruction how can this be so.
Look at his roles listern to his word and you will soon see what we are being told.
War is a bringer of such death and distruction and those who are at its mercy will look in dispare at their world being distored both on a personel level as well as in the greater view of thing.
But now look to Min as a God of fertility look at what this means here you will see the message that is coming through to us.
Yes war distroys but from that distruction we must look for regrowth for from the seeds of war we can grow anew. We can take the great sacrifices of war and use them to feed our minds our souls and to rebuild. Chaos is a great force for bad but as I have already mentioned the Netjar gives us balance and so for each act of chaos we must look for its counter and from there take it nurture it and let it grow as we would a seed in the field.
As it grows we can grow a great crop that will feed our minds our souls and our fellows.
So on this day look to the many roles of Min take these apspect as I have done here look at them deep and hard and you too will begin to see what the Netjar has to teach us all.
The Netjar seeks to teach us through example and deed they do not seek to tell us or decree to us how we live our lives. This is our duty to live our lives as we feel we should learning from the Netjar taking that great knowledge and growing day by day week by week year by year with fertile minds to reap a great crop a crop of knowledge and wisdom.
May the blessings of Min be with you all on this day.
