Aset (Isis) grieves the loss of Wasir (Osiris)
28th day of the month of Koiak in the year 5109
In the kemetic faith today, we look to the great life story of Osiris & Isis once more, as we mark the great grief of Isis upon the loss of Osiris.
Her loss is one that so many have felt, the loss of your life partner one who has shared your life for so long.
However, it is even more tragic as Osiris had his life taken by human had and not by the hand of time.
Sadly it is a fate that we see so many face in the modern world we live in. a world that.
Over the years, we have been able to learn so much from the lives of these two Gods.
It has been their examples that have given us the bases of so many of our laws that we live by today.
This sad and tragic part of their lives also gives us a great deal that can bring us comfort & guidance in our lives today as it has done for those in the past.
Very much so for those who have lost a loved one before their natural time. For as I have said in our modern world no matter how much we say that we are more civilised more advanced than those who have preceded we are no.
We still walk our city streets with the ever presence danger of violent crime. our homes are still far from the safe refuges that we would hope them to be.
With all these dangers, it is no wonder that as Pharaoh I am contacted by so many who have suffered the same great grief that Isis faced at this time.
These people ask me how can they bare their great grief. What help can they find in the words of the Gods and I answer them with the words look to the life of Isis for in her life we can find the answers that we all seek in the time of such sorrow.
Isis shows us that even though our loved ones have been taken from us in their present form they have not gone for ever they remain with us for ever in the spirit form. Their other soul travels to the next world as did Osiris’s to be reborn in the next world where they can continue their live in happiness and peace with their ancestors.
We should also take great comfort in the fact that we will one day be reunited with them when it is our time to pass from this world.
Isis shows us that our loved ones need our strength at this time as well. For it is our help and support in the rituals that they need in their passing and their return in spirit that ensures their happiness in the next world.
All of this we gain from Isis and her deeds and her example has been laid down to us so that we can bare this greatest of pains and sorrow.
